The eighth plenary of the Hub France Gaia-X was held on Thursday 9 April 2026 at the French Ministry for the Economy, Finance and Industrial, Energy and Digital Sovereignty, in the Pierre Mendès-France conference centre. It ran from 10am to 5pm on the theme of strategic mastery of AI by business teams, with data spaces (opens in a new tab) Data space A decentralised infrastructure enabling trustworthy data exchanges based on commonly agreed rules. presented as the ecosystems of choice for putting the European AI strategy into practice.
Over the lunch break, Véronique Demilly of France Télévisions ran a stand presenting TEMS, the Trusted European Media Data Space, and TAMIS, its pilot use case for audiovisual metadata.
A plenary devoted to data spaces as the operational ground of the European AI strategy is a fitting place for TAMIS. What the project works on sits upstream of any of those uses: metadata that is created once and stays intact from production to broadcast and beyond. Whatever is built on top of that data, automated or not, then works on facts rather than on guesses.
