The first phase of TAMIS, the project led by the CST, has been completed. TAMIS ("Traceability in Audiovisual Metadata in a dIstributed and Secured manner") sets out to give the industry a practical way to exchange metadata in a distributed and secured way.
This opening phase focused on a stubborn problem: the descriptive and technical metadata that travels with the many versions of an audiovisual work needs careful handling, so that each version can be identified, searched, and tracked as it is produced, published and consumed.
With the groundwork laid, the project now moves on to its next steps.
